Repairs 2004 Troy Bilt super bronco 42" automatic

When i put my mower in foward it jerks and grinds/clicks. Works fine in reverse but not foward. The linkage is engaging the drive belt and the variable speed pully engages the trans belt but will not move. I have taken rearend/trans apart but did not see anything visuialy wrong with it. Anybody have any suggestions?

You opened the transaxle and saw nothing wrong? Look at the axle splines?....Good Luck!

turns out the shifter linkage needed to be adjusted, it was allowing it jump out of gear. works great now.
