Get a can of starter fluid.
take the air filter off and start the engine.
When it is about to die give it a little squirt of fluid ( note I said little )
If it continues to run continue the squirts.
If it looks like you could do this forever, don't, stop the engine and clean out the carb. you have a fuel supply problem.
Oft the starts then stalls out shortly after is water in the float bowl
Does that carb have a solenoid on the bottom of the fuel bowl? If so, see if it is opening. Those directly block fuel to the carb fuel nozzle when not energized.
