1978 Model 8237 kill switch doesn't work to kill the engine

Hello folks,
New member. I replaced the pull cord and upon reassembling the cowl the mower starts up and runs fine but the on/off switch doesn't work to kill the engine. There are 2 wires that run off the bottom of the on/off switch. One goes to the coil lead, where does the other go to?
Thanks
Robert

The wire will go to ground somewhere, maybe near the coil its self.

I wish I could remember where it was attached. Everything under the engine cowl is plastic with a couple of aluminum brackets. I'm assuming it's grounded on something steel? Would anyone have a pic they can post?

If your engine has a engine brake it will on that.
