17.5 Command wiring

I have an old John Deere L110 mower that I am turning into a mud ride for my grandson. I have allready taken the deck off. It has a Kohler CV491S motor. I want to know which wires I have to keep for a push button start? Which one is the charging wire? I allready have a kill switch wired.

Locate the rectifier.
There should be 2 wires the same colour , usually yellow and one a different colour generally purple.
the body of the rectifier is the - side of the rectifier output the purple wire is the 12 V feed back to the battery.
The push start button needs to connect the battery to the blue wire on the starting solenoid
