I'm new to the forum and was given a 1438H with a B/S 14.5 hp this past spring and I love it! starts every time, runs and cuts great!!! Problem is the muffler broke at the mounting flange and I need to replace it. This is a "can" style and the replacements I see are a little pricey. Does anybody know of a less expensive alternative to replace this with? I'm not really into putting $100 plus into a muffler.

The nature of the game for this size engine is pricey parts. Your choices are find a used one on the web, have someone weld it if possible, or purchase new.
