Hey everybody;

I have a Land Mark lawnmower that is powerd by a 3.5 HP Briggs and Stratton motor, its in decent shape, but don't know the year or any details of it.

I tried looking it up and all the information I followed only provided details for 8 digits, mine has 11.

Has anyone heard about this? How do I go about finding my year and info? Any directions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Code - 02088110351

Type - 3164

Model - 92502

Are you getting these #'s off the engine itself? Do not use any from the mowers deck if that is where you are reading them. The following link may help you in locating and deciphering them. How to Locate Briggs and Stratton Model Numbers

Thanks for the info, here is where I am getting the numbers from:

As I can make it out to me it looks like the stamping is not aligned very well being the
model # is 92502
and the type # is 3164 020
and the date code # is 88110351
which would make the engine manufactured on the 3rd of November 1988.
Use the link How to Locate Briggs and Stratton Model Numbers for the rest of the information. Hope this helps.

The type no should have 4 digits then 2 digits for the trim then the code.

Model 92502
Type 3164 02
Code 088110351

This is how it should read.
Code is date of manufacturer with also production line used

So code 08 year 8month 11day.

I disagree as the mower and engine from your previous post look to me to be older than 4 years. :confused2: The date code should be 8 digits, not 9 digits. Either way we have an extra digit. Upon closer examination the type looks to be a 3164 02C with a C at the end. How long have you owned the mower and was it bought new or used?

On closer look you are right it does look like a "c".
In all my time iv never seen that before.
I also did think it was funny being a 92502 in year 08.
Could be 88 then??

Yea thats what I was thinking, it looks older than the hills, I got it from a friend who found it in the dump maybe 2 months ago now. It runs, but needs a new throttle cable and some carb work. I posted up more pics of it under my albums, maybe there will be more telling signs? The decals look old for a 4 year old mower....(style wise)
