I have been tweaking/improving my 10515, 492... series mower.
Had a new drive belt installed, so that works much better.
The mower has been loud for awhile, but would like to make it quieter.
I have another, 10515, that is much quieter, so I feel something is wrong with the loud mower.
I removed the round muffler on the bottom, and nothing stood out.
Is there anything to check/fix with the muffler?
Or do I have to look into getting a new muffler for the mower to quiet it down.
Thoughts????

Why not just try the quiet muffler on the LOUD machine, and that should give you your answer .
I have thought of that, but the machines are in different locations.
The quiet one is 160 miles away.
If I did remove the muffler from the quiet one, and it fixes the loud one, then, I still need to get something to quiet the other one then.
I was just wondering if there was something to do with the loud muffler, other then just replacing it.
FYI....I mentioned about the other less loud unit, just to state that I know what a loud one and a quiet one are like.
