My lawn mower sputters when it is running. I have cleaned it a d I think the choke is the problem. While it is running it seems like the small spring isn't pulling it closed and it is open all the way all the time. If I use my hand and close it a little it runs just fine. Is the problem the spring g or is there something else?

Give us the make of the engine and all the numbers you can find on the engine. We don’t know what you are taking about, because we are not standing there looking at it.

The engine is a Briggs and Stratton 675 ex

We need the engine numbers. Take a couple of minutes to look over the metal cover on the engine, particularly over the muffler. The numbers you gave are only for advertising.
