I live in the country and have about 5 acre’s to cut. Bought a new 07 X324 in 07 and she does a great job just a little slow and decided that I needed a bigger mower since as I get older I’d like to have nice grass cut but not take so much time doing it. Thought a Skag 61” would do the job and started looking for one with a diesel. After much looking and thinking I decided that a used mower would be best. I found a 07 John Deere 1545 with a 72” flex deck a spare 72” regular deck Was fully enclosed with A/C and heat and with shipping from South Dakota to Virginia still was less than a new diesel Skag and it only has 1200 hours. With on demand 4 wheel drive this machine makes cutting a lot more enjoyable and comfortable. Now my X324 just does the trimming where the 1545 can’t.

Wow! That is a super machine. All it needs is a Keurig. ;-)

How is the cut with the flex deck?

The cut is nice and it has 6 belts and had a nut come off in the belt area and looks like new belt time but this mower is an 07 and I’m still learning all the ends and outs of it. My local JD dealer had a better price than online to the toon of $10.00 less per belt. It also came with a regular 72” deck but I’m so spoiled by the flex deck that I ordered the belts and intend on continuing to use it. Riding in the A/C comfort really changes everything while out in the yard. I even started cutting the grass at my Ruritan club. Hope your having a great day.
