Repairs Cub cadet ltx stopped moving forward and reverse

My cub cadet ltx 1040 stop moving forward all of a sudden while cutting my lawn. It wont go in reverse either. It is 8 yrs old and also lots of white smoke when starting before cutting lawn. Could the problem be the transaxle? Also would it be worth repairing. Or get rid of it.

check your drive belt

How much pressure does it take to press the pedal?

It was the drive belt. It was off the pulley and I put it back on and it works again.
