Engine Need help finding carburetor

I was given a JD 130 model, product identification number moo130x476534. With engine serial number FC 290-065635, code FC290v-B500. It has a 9HP kawasaki engine ( original ). THE PROBLEM: The carburetor is bad and many searches say the carb is obsolete. Can anyone direct me how to find another carb that will fit the engine. If I can find a replacement carb I will give the mower back to the 87 year old, He rides the neighborhood and mows around his garden. Least I could do!

What's wrong with the carburetor? Can you still buy a rebuild kit?

If it can't be repaired, do a search for lawnmower salvage yards. You might be able to find a good used carb.
