I have an older Neuton mower. It is a 14" cut with a 24volt battery. It needs a new battery and a charger. It will cost about $65 or more to buy these on eBay or elsewhere. Is it worth it in your opinion?
It all depends on how emotionly attached you are to your old mower. It will certainly cost you a lot more to buy a modern new mower that uses lithium ion batteries, but it will offer significant advantages in lower weight and faster recharge time. Also, you can probably rebuild your battery for a fraction of the cost of buying a new one, since it consists of two ordinary 12 volt SLA batteries wired in series.
I just picked up one of these for free. It's worth keeping if you have like a problem area with a regular mower being too heavy going slanted across lawn.. like me where I have a downgrade Hill that goes into a fence..I am not attached to it. I just like to add value if I can and keep things out of the junk yard for a few years if feasible.
The price I quoted above included rebuilding the existing battery with two SLA batteries available on EBay.
I can't make up my mind. Thanks.

If you decide to scrap the mower, I'd be interested. Mine is broken where the top attaches to the sides. I'll need the whole top piece.
