Hi,

My mid-80s 160 is in need of a new drive belt. I have removed brackets and such but not sure how to remove electric clutch.
Google has not been much help.
Thanks,

Unless you have to pull the engine pulley down to remove the drive belt there is no need to remove the clutch.
Just take the belt off then unplug the clutch then remove the drive belt.

If you really want to remove the clutch it is a single bolt then pulls right down.

That will depend upon what type of anchor you have for the clutch.
I thought that yours has a bar that pulls back out of the way.
With really old mowers I try to avoid removing the clutch as a lot of them are rusted onto the shaft.
There is little alternative than to get under it and pull it towards you so when it finally lets go your nose prevents it from being damaged by landing hard on the ground.

the 160 does require the removal of the clutch to replace the transmission drive belt, shoot me your email, I have a PDF of the technical manual that covers this repair

Thanks guys and of course JOE!
She is now laying on her starboard side and I'm wondering how to pull the clutch. :)
Appears to be one with the shaft. :(
Not surprised just disappointed.
And the grass just keeps growing...
Thanks again,
Tim
