Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Been rainin' cats and dogs here since about 0339.
Poodles all over the yard.......
Howlin' wind at 0530 when squall line passed thru.....'naders with it as well.
I'll be happy if my newly spread dirt didn't all wash down the hill......
Hang onto yer bonnet if it makes it to you, Boo a,d Bama.................

Good day to be parts shoppin' for the 350 (soon to be 355) build.
Waitin' on word as to the viability of the heads I tool in.
Vortec heads are prone to crackin'. Here's hopin'............

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

I want y'all to know I loves me some bacon BUT I HATE wild hogs. Went to check on the farm after all the stormy weather we had the past few weeks and it seems that the hogs decided the pasture was their new play ground. Looks like someone tilled up the land. Guess it is the hickory trees, grubs and bugs they wanted. The Bride and I ended up stretching 300 of 500 feet of hog wire fence to try to keep the hogs out of the pasture and the house I am a seriously hurting puppy and that was over the weekend when we worked. Here are some pics from the game camera I set up

I throw in the fox picture because it is cool to see. Deer, hogs, armadillo and the fox all at different times.

Thanks for the recap,Chuck........

Maybe you should change yer handle to "Buttbala"

I do believe it is one of the best parts of a woman but come on 4 out of 12 pictures does not require a Nick name change.

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Question as far a deck idler springs go. My Bob-Cat has been a great machine except that it tends to throw the deck belt upon engagement of the PTO is you have the RPMs a bit too low. It's a pretty light spring compared to those on my other machines. I finally decided to take a good look at it and noticed that the spaces between the coils are crooked in 2 places, one on each end of the spring. It's as if it had gotten over extended and bent/tweated at some point, maybe while I was hastily trying to put the belt back on in the field?

So the question is does a spring sitting under tension with uneven angles of the spaces between them mean the spring is damaged, likely has less tension as a result and could be my problem? I think I know the answer...already ordered a new spring.
