I'm looking a two walkbehind self-propelled lawnmowers...one's a Troy-Bilt the other is a Toro.

Troy-Bilt has B&S Professional Series engine...190cc, 8.75 ft-lbs torque.

Toro has Toro TXP 159cc engine (don't know power rating) that Toro claims is manufacture by themselves.

Anyone have experience with either engine ?

Interested in hearing your comments both good and bad.

Definitely get the mower with the Briggs and Stratton engine. They make more reliable and proven engines. The new line of "Toro" engine on their push mowers are actually chinese clone engines, and you would be taking a big risk in purchasing a mower with a clone motor like a Toro engine. In terms of reliability and performance, Briggs and Stratton is the way to go. Beside, you will be getting a much higher grade of engine with the Troy-bilt vs the Toro. Toro does make push mower that feature Briggs and Stratton engines.

Go with a mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine on it. They've never let me down.

Let me know if you have any further questions. I'll be happy to answer them.
