bought a snapper re 200 in aug of 2012 the 14530 model.( 14.5 hp ).thought i read that the gas tank was a clear plastic so i could tell how much gas i had, but when i got it my gas tank is solid black, so how am i to know when i'm getting too low on gas?

If you find a manual for the mower you might be able to tell if the gas tank is supposed to be clear or black, but after awhile of mowing you should be able to tell how long it will last on a tank and be able to judge it that way.

my snapper stopped running when out of gas... pretty much the universal method to confirm it was out of gas... I do however check it before starting on the yard... if I could not see half a tank of more then I would fill it.
