when mowing for about an hour, it will cut off for a few seconds. The number of times this happens has been increasing also, it happened 5 times on the last cut. The mower is 9 plus years old with approx 760 hours, 19horse Kaw. I'm thinking a safety switch, none of them have ever been replaced.

You could be on the right track with a safety switch. I have seen where the seat switch gets loose and the slightest up/down movement would cause the condition you are experiencing. You can unplug the switch and connect an ohm meter to watch the reading while you manually cycle the switch. An intermittent that lasts only a few seconds could be tough to find until it acts up for a longer period of time. Please do let us know what ultimately fixes the problem.

I installed a new seat switch today, I'll update the results after the next cut. Thanks for your input, greatly appreciated.
