When I can keep it short (no rain keeping me from mowing) it works great. But the yard is unusable with grass clippings from a side discharge when it wasn’t already short to begin with. I use my side discharge on the perimeter as much as possible.

Thanks guys. I just hope I get another 10 years out of this great machine at about 25 hours per year. I see it to mow my perimeter and where sticks are. I also use to to tow the dethatcher and spray spreader, using Celsius to kill weeds.

It only occurs when I make the engine work so hard that it almost stops due to high grass.

When the engine was bogging down a bunch through thick grass, smoke was coming from somewhere near the plug when I was done. The engine was so hot that I could not explore properly. Since that mow, I have not seen this smoking, nor have a mowed grass that high or thick.

My B27 is burning oil. I’m on oil “change” 4 at 56 hours. Used Kohler’s 300 hour synthetic the last 2 times and that might as well be water.

I use my “foot gauge” for the rear tires in my tractor. For the front, I use the bike pump gauge. It’s great for footballs too. I wish I had the name and model number. But it’s what all the bikers recommend.

I picked up a B28i with a kholer fuel injected engine, mulching deck, 48inches 6 months ago. I upgraded from the base model with a 42 inch deck. It’s amazing for 2 acres.

As a mechanic, do you think a Walker or Deere could handle mulching thick, not high, Zoysia grass? I understand the Deere deck can do both mulching and side discharge, whereas Walker decks do one or the other.
