Found it on ebay, exact same part down to the stamp on the case. $14 Did more digging on the greenparts site and still don't see it on any diagrams :(

We found the problem now to find the part!!! I guess it would be called an igniter but that comes up with nothing in a part search the local John Deere dealer has them but they want 100 bucks for one!!! Anybody know what it’s called or better yet a part number so I can try to order one online

I don't know of any mowers that will turn over if the safety circuits are not properly engaged. I would replace the plug first. they are cheap and a new one never hurts.

Sorry it is a FC420V Straight 170 It has a 15Amp blade fuse near the Battery but even with it pulled The mower still starts, I don't see anyregulator module mounted around the motor.

Looking at the system a little there is just a single large red cable from the starter to the battery and a small red wire from the ign switch to the bendix. Where does the charge voltage come from and what is the Achilles heel in the charging system?

Yep it's a 500 THANKS! The locking of the valve setpoint is a little different than the Honda Motorcycles I've done, probably because the tappet adjuster on the Honda is right on top of the valve stem. I'll get them set tomorrow!

The pump is really cheap so i ordered a pump and filter combo. I'll now next week if it worked.
