Then take it to the repair shop. Hopefully it's not a "wear" part and will be covered by warranty. Otherwise go to a Toro or Husqvarna dealer and price a good battery mower and decide what you want to do. Pay for a real mower or take your time and $$ to the toy mower repair shop.

Correct, the bolt towards the rear. The Coil mount is thick so the wire does not come into contact with the engine. Plus the cooling fan is right there as well

Yes, Toro still uses the super reliable belt. I do have the Toro engine

I like my new Super Recycler. Mulches, bags, and side discharges great.159cc seems stronger than 190cc honda. Toro's blade stop system has remained the same for many years and is a very simple reliable design.

Could be that this older JD120 is from the early 70's and not a recent model.

In 2000 a new LX279 listed for $4750.00. A new X300 listed for $2999.00 in 2018. Adjusted for inflation the X300 would sell for $2000.00 in the year 2000. So adjusted for inflation the LX279 is almost 240% more expensive.

Google "Bungee Cord with Toggle Ball" These are used to secure tarps and such. The nice thing is the cord can be cut and tied for proper length

I was referring to adding a shut off valve to a Toro engine that would be on a different mower. Not saying to do anything to his current sputtering mower.

Keep grinding at your dealer to fix or get you another model. This is known issue so get something with a Toro engine instead. If you want to store vertically put shut off valve in fuel line (I did) and it will store nicely. Get rid of Mr. Sputter asap my dealer told me to stay away from B&S...

Do you have a set of standard side discharge blades? My 42" deck came with them.

I like my JD X350. It has exceeded my expectations in mulching, bagging, side discharge and cut quality. Excellent ride with minimal vibrations. No weird quirks, very high quality and a real enjoyment to use.

Nice write up on your X380 post Mike. I'm wondering the model # of the blades that came with your mower. JD lists that the standard blades have a wing height of 0.858 in and the high lift blades have a wing height of 1.370 in. for the 48" AccelDeep deck.

Removal and installation instructions indicate that the cutting height should be adjusted to the lowest position so take a look there first.

Step 2 should not require a ratchet strap. At least it didn't for me. I suggest you go through the manual for installing the deck again. I've done my x350 no issues.

Suggest you might consider a John Deere. I looked at Cub but decided JD would bag, mulch, and side discharge better. My JD exceeded all my expectations.

Adjustment of a very slight amount can lead to a improvement in being able to reverse. Be patient and make small changes to the cable.

Make sure that you have adjusted the cable correctly. Clutch cable adjust Have you checked the engine RPM's? There are lots of videos on the web with guys using the Timemaster commercially, have you watched some of those to see how your mower is operating compared to those? Some of those guys...

If "specs" cut grass then go with the Cub. IMHO the Deere is worth every penny.

Leaf collection is very dusty conditions and air intake is back there. Sometimes cost concessions dictate optimum performance so buyer beware

You guys looking at ZTR and bagging make sure the engine has excellent air filtration.

At long as the temps were 60-90 degrees it was easily started. The cold weather hard starting and the plastic bushings on the axle are why I moved on

Mine had the 190cc engine

On cooler fall days my HRX217 would be hard to start. When I would stop to empty the bag full of leaves and restart I'd have to pull 5-7 times. My new Super Recycler has blade stop but I've also had much better luck starting and restarting it in cooler weather

Dealer replaced that twice and the coil. Problem fixed with new Toro

My Honda HRX was very hard to restart when warm, especially when air was cooler. During leaf pickup very frustrating. Stop,empty bag then pull 5-8 times to restart. All is good now, I have a Toro.
