NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

If you say so. It's on the top in this particular case. Literally, looks like some sort of prototype, as not much matches Toro manual for the model and year.

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

I got it. Well, I just opened one side, the opposite side should not be a problem, it has better access. Wasn't even that hard with the right tool.

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

No, simply sloppy Qc at the factory and don't care those who put it together. It's good mower. Stuff happens.

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

That's breather tube, not fill plug. Has spring loaded valve inside. Hole for it will NOT allow oil IN, I tried. Fill plug, as usual, is a large hex head plug hidden by the frame flare. Folks, service hole for that plug is in the wrong place. It is ALMOST where it should be, clearly, except that...

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

I have manual. It simply says remove plg, remove breather plug, refill to drip. Do air bleeding procedure. I'm pretty sure and it's quite obvious, that service window in the frame is simply off vs plug location. Basically, frame is for a different transmission or transmission is for a different...

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

Well, bad news is, it does have 2 spin on filters and is supposed to be serviced at 50 hrs, per manual. I'm already at 72. First oil change. Thereafter, it's 300 hrs.

NASTY surprise from Toro on filler plug

I was going to do hydro oil change on my Toro Timecutter Myride 60 inch mower to find a nasty surprise. There is filler plug on top of transmission, one per each side. I am blessed, I knew well enough to ALWAYS open filler plug before draining any oil. I found that filler plug is covered by...

Toro Titan MyRide 60 inch no start

What the heck... So I went back to the mower.. Started with removing post fuel filter hose - no gas. Removed pre filter hose - no gas. Well, maybe it needs pump to engage, OK.. Removed charger clamps off the battery terminals Turned key into #2 position, whatever that is. Some faint noise came...

Toro Titan MyRide 60 inch no start

Scratching my head here. Worked fine last time used. Set in garage through winter time. We had some cold weather, maybe down to 17F for a night or 2, but that is gone. I tried to start the engine today - no go. 1. starter spins fine 2. tank half full 3. Choke up, as it should 4. PTO down, as it...

    Best for hills?

I have very steep slopes in my property, some are like 30-40 degrees. I have no issues with ZTR on them. Unless grass is wet and it wants to slide on it. But, stability wise, superb. Of course, I have wide ass 60 inch mower with factory wide rear tires.... it's like a turtle... Ad hoc, someone...

Grass isn't cut between the blades.

Take blades off and look at them. Is cutting leading edge rounded towards the blade ends? That's how it usually goes. Then, it will cut less in that area. Are blades perfectly straight or bent? If you have bent edge, it will cut differently. Last week I pulled my Toro blades off to sharpen and...

    EZ Vac bagger

Ok, so here's the review 1. Very expensive. 1350 after tax 2. Took about an hour plus to set up. Some drilling involved as the vertical bag holder frame bolt holes didn't quite lineup as they shoul. 3. No, it's not permanent install. Can be removed by removing drive belt from the pulley...

    Toro ZTR with Myride

Oh, and to add. With factory tiers, mower goes through mud and puddles like they are not there. I have 1.25 acre wetland lower property tier. Normally, I was bypassing those puddles, waiting for them to dry. This mower does not care, goes through several inch puddles without noticing it.

    Toro ZTR with Myride

Anyhow. Record time so far. I did about 85% of the last year largest mow in 1 hr 45 min, that's with starting, rolling out, rolling back in, parking, walking to the house to check on time. I say 85% because we reduced some mowable area, dedicating it to some gardening projects. Last year mow was...

    Toro ZTR with Myride

Well, I didn't mean waist high grass. 6-7 inches. Pretty much, double the cut height. If I cut at the maxx 4, I'll have to cut every week, 5+ acre. Several hours every time. If that bogs mower.... My now gone 50'' Cub didn't have that problem.

    Toro ZTR with Myride

I got 60'' Timecutter with MyRide. It actually does cut crazy fast. I already did several acre mows and will do the "big" mow today. 4 acre plus. Unfortunately, I ended with Toro engine one and I can warn you - it does feel underpowered. Claimed HP is what it is, but I can tell, on tall grass...

    Deck Design ??

It's aggrevating, ain't it? Like as if it's done on purpose, to make you crawl underneaTH THE DECK AND CLEAN ALL THE AGGREGATING, MIXED WITH MUD AND ROCKS, CLIPPINGS, LITERALLY EATING DIRT SAME TIME. Sorry, damn caps key always gets in my way. Anyhow. Remove the deck. Set it so that baffles face...

Trying to chose between two Timecutter MyRides.....?

I just got a 60'' Timecutter MyRide Toro. 3 weeks ago or so. Only did a few trials and mulched a bunch of last year leaves, stuck by the fence. I don't really know, how well it will cut, as it's February and no real growing grass yet. So I'll call this "off the hip" impression. 1. got it online...

Lawn sweeper instead of mower bagger?

Ok, here's what it is, and I have my reasons to have it the way I have it. I have chicken farm, fully fenced and netted. About 5 000 sf runs. Of course, there is no grass left inside runs, they ate it all. As the result, ever so often, I bag 3 large bags of grass and toss it in. They love it...

    Swisher 66" considered

Well, I found visual answer to my question. Go to 3:03 and 4:09 here: That's future mower deck, going into powder coating. Mind you, into POWDER COATING, not into sand blasting. Noticed something? RUST. Same exactly rusted panel is powder coated at 4:09. You can, actually, see same rust stains...

    Swisher 66" considered

Yeah, beauty is in the eye of beholder but just look at Encore product and you WILL see what I'm talking about. Build quality shows itself. Along with design. For same money, actually. And I do not have funny idea of what's reliable, I have experience of anything bolted on my mowers falling...

Would please like some advice on price of a used 2022 Hustler Raptor 54"

I had 2 Hustlers, 54 and 60, and I'd tell the tenth in a row not to buy them. 54 was falling apart continuously, it was exercise in repairs. 60 was not much better..Of course, mine were older than 2022 and 22 model does look different from what I had, though I bet, deck suspension bolts will go...

    Swisher 66" considered

Hi all I am considering a 66" Swisher tow behind mower. Apparently, Encore 70" is not made anymore, neither is its 60" brethren, so can't have those. Swisher is next in line. I am curious, from the first hand owners, how good are they? I have rather rough terrain (not rocks, just poorly graded)...

Toro Engines ? Who is making them ?

As I am looking into Tor MyRide one, came across this thread - and this below: THE TORO ZX V-TWIN Commercial Engine We are now in year 8 with the TORO ZX and have become very confident in this engine at B T South after having sold over 2000 pieces of equipment power by the ZX. It's key features...

    Toro ZTR with Myride

Sure thing. It was 100% faster to cut with 60"" Hustler, just super uncomfortable. I even added spring front struts and still, it only made it worse. But I knocked down full mow from 4.5 hr to 2.5. As in - full mow, without doing fence and trees pre-mow. Just because ZTR would go into any tight...

    Toro ZTR with Myride

Ah, yes. For $13 000 I'd definitely expect some comfort. I'd rather keep running my UTV and flail. After all, I am not in lawn cut quality competition, just don't want to spend 4.5 hr every other weekend mowing.

Well, it's also night and day cost.

    Toro ZTR with Myride

OK, thank you. Of course, short of test driving Myride on my property there is no REAL telling but, is it really dampening bumps and hills or not? There are no decent tow behind finish mowers. The one and only I'd buy is not available due to parts shortage. That's just an opinion on the side. I...

    Toro ZTR with Myride

I came across a 50'' deck Toro with Myride at Home Depot 2 days ago. I am considering going back to ZTR and here's my question: I have total crapfor grading in my 5 acres to mow. Small hills, bumps, what not. Ride is VERY uncomfortable and painstaking, as I have to creep through the property...

    Flail mower owners question

Sort of resurrecting my old thread but.. I finally bought set of T blades that match my flail rotor and mounted them. As they were sold in packs of 20, and I have 32 blades stations on my flail rotor, last Saturday I replaced twenty out of 32 and did trial run. It was CLEARLY cutting better...

I drove a gravely for the 1st time today

Well, everyone, who complains about mowing uneven property, should come here and try mine. This is why I sold 2 ZTRs. 52'' and 60''. Mower for 6 to 7 acres

Mower for 6 to 7 acres

I have 6 acre property and mow about 5+ of it, due to build outs and driveway. I have VERY rough 2.5 acre. VERY. Lots of hills and things of that nature. It's RPITA to mow. I had 60 inch ZTR and I could do entire mow in 2.5 hr. With trees so many, you are destined to go ZTR. The larger it gets...

I think I have Cub Cadet XT50, with 50 inch deck and three blades. I had it for about - not sure - a year? Year and a half? Anyhow. Flail mower owners question

Well, duh.. my flail is gas engine operated and I have no doubt, it is under powered for the job, only 16 Hp. I can tell, how easily it bogs. So I have to either creep at about 2 mph, what is a killer on about 5 acre mow or deal with uncut grass left behind. Or, upgrade engine to 20 something...

    Flail mower owners question

I have tow behind 60 inch gas powered flail. I mow about 5 acres of "meadow" with it, no saplings or shrubs or anything harsh. Raptor SD 54 inch drive belt keeps coming off

Fabrication by numbers, that drove GM into bailout, is what is causing all this. We do not have quality fabrication anymore, we have just adequate one. Same principle, when applied to healthcare in late 80s, resulted in what we have now there.
