There are a lot of good mowers. Grasshopper, Exmark, Ferris etc.

I just use a free standing grinder with a 10 in. wheel and 2 HP. motor. Hand hold the blade and less than a minute per blade. Don't over think this. It is not a chefs knife.

13.2 seems low, but I don't know what most lawn mowers do. That might not be enough to maintain a battery. My grasshopper is 14.2 like most other engines. Low charging voltage will ruin a battery over time.

Could you have some other problem, some sort of a discharge. Even Walmart batteries should last a way more than 90 days. Check your voltage while running. The alternator should be putting out about 14 volts.

A clicking solenoid is often caused by low voltage. That can be a discharged or bad battery, or bad connections. You need to check the voltage at the battery and downstream from it. It can also be a bad ground problem.

If you can change the oil use a heavier grade oil. Should not bypass as readily. But it sounds like your pump or motor is worn out.

Have you checked for a seat activation switch? Are you getting 12 volts to the PTO switch?

Also you can use off road non taxed fuel in your diesel mower. I love diesel engines and have them in my cars, trucks, mower ,compactor, and I have a strong dislike for small gas engines.

So why isn't it tensioning then? Might need a new spring. Are the belts worn? Is there any take up on the tensioner. The spring should have quite a bit of tension on the belt.

This is where a front mount Grasshopper would shine for you. It is super easy to get on and off. No joystick as far as I know.
