Well,I got around to teardown of this engine,I was hoping I would be able to use some of the parts for an 8270 with low compression.But by the looks of it all I have is a good flywheel and coil assembly.Everything internal is damaged,cylinder,piston,rod,crank,even the reeds got dinged up.Next is...

After cleaning my newest purchase of a LawnChief 12-39,I noticed this small spring on the governor linkage.It is really fragile.What does it do and where does it attach to??

Deck is solid,paint peeling.Other plastic parts are faded,fuel tank is two-toned from sunlight,recoil functions ok, a bit rusty peeling paint. P/U or I can ship,located in SE Wisc. I'll take any reasonable offer.

My 8157A I've had a short time busted a rod and poked a hole in the crankcase so I was in need of a replacement engine.I didn't want to scrap it out it looks practically new,and I like the way it cuts.A few days ago I drove past an equipment dealer that I knew had a bunch of older equipment...

I've owned my 8157A a short time,(my first LB)and when engaging blade it would rattle a bit.I wasn't sure if this was normal or not.I should have asked this here. Could it have been a rod knock?... I think this is a little beyond a JB Weld fix.:frown:
