I've had my 400 head over 10 + years. It welded some real cheap line. Since then, I use only Husqvarna Titanium .095, been golden ever since.

Read long ago the 500 head was gonna be recalled. For that reason. Guess they never did.

I have speed feed 400 Been using Husqvarna Titanium .095, never welded string. Read the 500 head has some metal in head and that causes the welding. It's not the string.

And know when you get on the mower, height will be a bit lower from operator weight.

You can get those plastic rivets online or auto parts stores. Most modern cans are using them in inner fender well, and other places. So you can pick some up cheap.

Fan screen is oversized to help prevent sucking in debris...

I test my NON ethanol gas. Mainly if I get it from different gas station..

Look at those worm drive hose clamps. They tighten but do have gap at the screw area. I quit using them..

I just put my blades in vise, and use 60 grit flapwheel on drill...then cone balance First I soak them in pan of water for ez clean. 20 minutes, crud wipes right off & no dust fumes.

Utility knife cut off drain nipple quickly.

I used a Crow foot 1" socket to tighten mine. No engine loosening.

Won't even crank, battery would be my 1st check..

Mine (HG 2800)have internal expansion tanks, w / external oil filters,.. They do require service. I just did mine @ 50 hours. Quiet & smooth.

Be curious to hear the outcome of this. That swale is not that deep.

I'd be shocked if it was permitted to fill the swale with gravel. That would look bad. Once grass starts growing, it will be fine. Just have to avoid the bottom when wet, or push mow hat part only.

The ditch (swale) would be "Right of Way" for underground water / gas etc & not actually owned by homeowner. Can't make changes like that without written permission. But homeowner is to care for it.
