I'm still looking for a Sickle Bar for the Ventrac and understand that Steiner had one at one time that would fit. Does anyone have any recommendations or know where I could get one ? Thanks !

I have the grader blade and the excavator bucket, but the blower works great for anything deep ! v bar chains on all 4 makes this go in nearly anything !

Looks like plastic items you could use a pick up tool similar to this to get them out ! I rotated and cleaned up your picture some.

Get a pick up tool - many versions available fairly cheap - reach in and grab the item without removing tank. Auto parts store should have the tool.

The blower is serious - we had two 2' snows and the blower had no problem doing 9 LONG drives and over 1/4 mile to the main road.:thumbsup:

I had no problems with the fenders and on the first 4231 (I had an 04 and now have the 2011) the rear frame was a bit close - the new 4231 has more space between the frame and the tire. I use chain tighteners so there is no space between the tire and chain. attachmentid=7036&stc=1&d=1340809934

Oregon also makes what they call an "Exmark Mulching Blade" that has an upper and lower cutting edge on each blade. They work well, but (I found out the hard way :eek:) they will bend if you hit anything and I have not found out a way to get them bent back straight again. They do come in...

Can't resist --- On the Ventrac - the mower is out front - lift cover off - pull 2 pins - flip deck up - put in pin to hold it up - remove blades with 3/4" wrench -- sharpen or change -- reverse process --- Easy ! I LOVE my Ventrac ! :thumbsup: :biggrin:

Some of you may remember that I repowered an 800 Special for a neighbor. The problem is that somewhere back in time someone removed the parking brake assembly and I can't even find any pictures or drawings of what it should look like. Any suggestions how I can lock the Brake / Clutch lever down...

These are the Meg-Mo blades not 3, but 4 knives / disc. some people don't like them, but I find they work great on the Ventrac. :thumbsup:

I don't know how easy or hard it might be to adjust your deck front to rear, but have you tried making the front of your deck maybe 1/4" lower than the back so that the blades actually cut 2 times (once up front and once in back) Obviously, also at the sides, but the leading edge would cut...

Well, I broke down and did it. I found out that Ventrac was not going to be putting the 31 Hp Water cooled Briggs in the 4200 series after this year (because of new EPA regs). I ordered an 4231 WC - Just got pictures of it at the factory crated and ready to ship to my dealer. {Thanks Dustin}...

I know, some people (KennyV) with some machines don't like them, but the Meg-Mo blades work great for me (especially in wet grass).:thumbsup: 4 cutting knives per spindle and they kick back if you hit any obstruction.

Said it Before - will say it again -- this is the VENTRAC 4200 with Dual Wheel Set (8 tires) Straight up and down the slope - Gauge is mounted on the side of the tool box, so it is reading the slope as the tractor climbs straight up the incline.

This shows where the gauge was on the tool box lid ! :biggrin: I held the tractor in position with the foot control while I took the pictures.

Finally got to mow the back side of our Dam today. It has been too wet and still is in spots. Dual wheels mounted and I put the Slope Gauge on the cover of the tool box - the picture of the gauge is with the tractor near the top and reads about 39 degrees. the 2nd picture is from the far side...

Have you seen Meg-Mo Blades ? I know Kenny did not have good luck with these, but I like them. They cut the grass clippings finer and throw them farther out the chute + the blades (knives) flip back if you hit anything. If you are interested, just look up Meg-Mo ! :thumbsup:

Depends on what they will go on and what you plan to do with them on your machine. I had a set similar to this on a JD 318 and they didn't tear up lawn unless it was wet.

This is the slope gauge on the dam (best I could do without the duals and wet ground) This is not the steepest spot. A little over 20 degrees without the dual wheel / tire set on wet ground. :biggrin:

This is the Dam I mow with the Ventrac (Dual Wheels attached) too wet today 3/4" rain last night. and our floating dock on our pond :biggrin:

This is JRs 1 Ton Chevy Truck and the spot I pulled it from with the Ventrac. It is steeper than it looks (especially pulling this truck).

If you don't have it - this is the parts list for the 33" snapper. The older Snapper RERs had an idler pulley on the Blade drive belt - JRs does not. The long free section of the drive belt causes the vibration. If yours is OK and there is a solution - let me know so I can help JR ! :biggrin:

Yep -- Impressive -- with our last winter (not this year) we had 20" & 24" snows, Not as much as you had, but I did 9 drives and 1/2 mile to the main road. NO PROBLEM :thumbsup: :biggrin:
