Would anyone happen to have the old Foley Belsaw Courseware?

I know it's been a while but, I forgot where I posted this message. I appreciate your response but, it looks like that website isn't around any more. Back to my search I guess. It'd be nice to find a class in one of the local community colleges but, I haven't seen anything yet. I'd offer...

Paing for a small engine repair course

I never looked at that saying in that way Rivets. The way it was brought to my attention was that the older mechanics (or anyone else in a profession out there) get, the less they can do in the areas like squatting down or even getting on thier knees to work on something and then not needing...

    What's in your bucket??

Wow, some great answers and a lot that I didn't even ponder before.. I've got a 4x8 trailer, a 6x10 trailer, the bed of my pickup, plenty of ways to get them back to the shop. What I usually do is buy those units that "ran last year" and won't start at all this year. I get them VERY cheap...

    What's in your bucket??

OK, I've got a 5 gallon bucket with a swivel padded seat on the top and pockets that run around the outside as well as inside the bucket. It's what I grab when one of my mowers/weedwhackers/chainsaws/etc give me problems starting or running.. My question is: What's in your bucket?? Or tool...

Craftsman 6.25hp. Trying to replace the blade holder under the deck. Hmm then I'm going to need a new one, Motor runs fine and smooth even though the blade was bent like a balloon animal. The blade holder took some damage and one of the bolts was shared off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Paing for a small engine repair course

I recall many moons ago taking a small engine course with my Dad through the local community college but.. man that's been a lot of moons ago for sure. I was hoping to find the old Foley Belsaw program still up and running but, I guess it's gone out of business. I'm retired military and I'm...

Paing for a small engine repair course

Well, that went over like a fart in church. I tried contacting EETC and entered my login, tried several passwords with it, asked them to send a new password and all I heard was crickets. It's 2:25PM Pacific Coast time here, maybe they've gone home for the day. I'll check in on them...

Would anyone happen to have the old Foley Belsaw Courseware?

Sorry for the late reply but, that courseware is exactly what I'm looking for. I sure wish someone else would come out with a course like that. Apparently they weren't making enough money or something so they closed the doors. Another fine American Institution being replaced by cheap...

Paing for a small engine repair course

    Service Prices

I'm happy just buying those chainsaws/blowers, weed whackers, that "ran last year" that they can't get running this year so they go buy a new one and try to "pawn the non-runner off" at the wifes yard sale. I've picked up Stihl Chainsaws, a still leaf blower, Husqvarna leaf blowers, you name...

Would anyone happen to have the old Foley Belsaw Courseware?

I'm looking to get back into repairing small engines (Mainly Chainsaws, leaf blowers, weed eaters, that kind of thing) and while I know how to do most easily accomplished repairs, I'd like to get deeper into the mowers and motors themselves. Foley Belsaw is in the process now of re-writing and...

What's the best barter you've made on small engines?

I'll start this one off. I had a guy call me and tell me he had a Troy-Bilt Weedeater that he and his brother tried to fix (Words that make me laugh, kind of like "It ran great 4 years ago, the last time we used it"). Anyway, this guy said "Just come get it, it's yours." I go to his house and...

How about a small engine repair discussion part?

I know this is the Lawnmower forum but, most people that use lawnmowers also use other items for yard maintenance as well. Maybe a small engine mechanics forum with topics related to how we made something work, or what troubleshooting we've done, that kind of thing. Just a thought... Back...

Has anyone had any luck with Ryobi Weed Eaters??

I've got seven of them right outside my shop right now that are about ready to head for the scrap yard. I've spent way too much time changing gas lines, filters, cleaning the gunk off them and tearing down and cleaning the carbs and they just won't run. Is there something with the diaprahms in...

What are those little fitting on fuel lines called where the line goes into the tank?

Take a weed eater for example. Hose comes off the primer bulb, to a little male fitting, then there's a small square piece, then another make fitting. The square piece is what makes a half decent seal where the fuel line is going into the gas tank.. What the heck are those things called and...

    Looking for Small Engine Courses

OK, if anyone has taken a small engine course from a place like Foley-Belsaw or one of the other training institutes that offer courses, can you give me your opinions?? Also, over at Lawnmowerman, he's got a bunch of DVD's were he teaches a lot of stuff. Short of going to a factory school...

Older MTD 3hp edger carb puzzle..

OK, so a guy called me and told me he had an MTD 3hp edger that he wanted me to pick up for free. He wasn't at the house but left it out front. There was a bag tied to the handlebars. Inside were all the little connection parts for the outside of the carb.. The model number on the Edger...

What's the neatest tool you've found?

I'm new to trying my hand at small engine repair and I'm always lookin for multi-purpose tools.
