I have an FT730V that had a similar problem. Discovered the cooling fins were about 50% clogged with dirt and grass. My bad for not seeing that sooner. Anyway, cleaned them, and replaced the temperature sensor (EFI engine). No more an issue. Don't forget to check the fins inside the shroud.

Shouldn't go wrong following manufacturers directions.

Easy. I regularly cut ditch banks twice that angle. As long as it is dry, of course. Cut either way, but would look better if cut lengthwise.

I have had some pulleys so tight I destroyed them getting them off. Had to order new pulleys. Ever since, I use axle lube on the spindle shaft and have never had problems getting the pulleys off after that.

You are correct, I experience that also. But my problem is I've not had this problem before, which is why I suspect an issue with the motor, but I can't figure it out. I've rebuilt mower engines before, and fixed many a one, but have never messed with an EFI before. But I do like the engine.

Stuff I get off Amazon, XHT, Oregon, Copperhead, Reaper. All .25" thick stuff. Regular high lift. Never used Gator blades. These work fine in anything else I cut, even 2' high stuff.

First thing, make sure your blades are sharp. Not like a knife edge, but close. And you want the tip as close to a 90 degree edge as you can get it. Not rounded or curved, that will just push the grass aside. The tip cuts 99% of the grass. Considering how fast the blade spins, the mower...

Have had 3 Ferris mowers with Kawasaki engines in the last 15 years. The last two were EFI. Have never had any issues or problems. I know Husqvarna puts Kawasaki engines on some of their mowers.

I recently had the same problem with my Ferris. Turns out the bearings in the spindles were all loose from wear. Once I replaced them, the mower never bogged down anymore.

If the underside of the deck is not smooth, the grass will not circulate very well. Make sure the uplift on your blades are not worn down. If they are worn down, the blades should have been discarded long ago. Keep your blades sharp and balanced.

Check your spindles for wear. If they have any play, the mower will bog down under a load. I just went thru that on my mower. Also, a VERY dirty air filter will produce the same effect.

I ran into that issue with a pulley on my 2200 52". I ended up grinding the rivets off, bought new bearings at the hardware store for $5, and used short screws with lock nuts to reassemble.
