Ok, it does not have a carburetor but a fuel pump. Also, Could all of the oil leak via the head gasket?

Hi My kohler had a blow out the other day. I started it up and smoke just bellowed out like crazy. It leaked all the oil out of the engine after it was shut off and sat. I pulled off one valve cover and ther was A LOT of oil and gas in the valve cover. Not sure what happened maybe a combination...
