ORANGE 3-BLADE LAWN TRACTOR DECK IDENTIFICATION

It could be off an old Ariens lawn tractor. I stand corrected. It's off an old Scotts lawn tractor. https://www.ebay.com/itm/267030981408

Again, you can buy gaskets for the Kohler tin valve covers. There is also a retro valve cover kit available. The kit includes new composite valve covers with o-ring style gaskets.

    First Oil Change

It doesn't really matter whether you use synthetic or conventional oils. Lots of commercial guys change their oil at 50 hours. Residential owners usually yearly or 100 hours. That's, if they follow the engine manufacturers recommendations. It's very important to keep the air filters properly...

    Steep Hill

If you have an ATV or UTV, something like a towed rough cut or finishing mower would work. Those things can be set up to run offset the centerline of the off road vehicle.

You can actually buy valve cover gaskets for that engine. You can also buy the upgrade composite valve covers with o-ring style gaskets.

You have a point there. Those folks then have problems when buying parts. Many will come to forums like this asking part and service advice for their mowers.

    First Oil Change

Neither does Kohler. However, many mower manufacturers say to change the oil early in their operators manuals. It's best to follow the recommendations in the engine manufacturers manuals for the engine. New mowers come with two manuals, one for the mower and one for the engine.

You can use whatever oil you like as long as it meets Kohler's minimum requirements and change at the recommended intervals. I use all sorts of oil in my Kohler engine. I've run 10W40 motorcycle oil, 15W40 diesel oil, and a mixture of leftover oils.

I did. It sounded like it was spinning just fine to me. Never mind, I wasn't paying attention to the top of the engine not spinning.

    Church Mower

Engines need spark, fuel, and air to run. Check your spark plugs. Are they wet with gas? Do they spark? Is it getting fuel to the carburetor? Is the air filter clean and dry? Is the choke linkage hooked to the throttle cable?

    Deck leveling and pitch adjustment

If it were my mower, I would run it level all around. If you are going to do it by the book, match your height selection to the actual cutting height in the front and raise the rear 1/8" to 1/4".

New tire appears thinner than size indicates. Will it inflate to proper size?

Normally, it's best to buy in pairs. You will get it close to the correct size by inflating to maximum pressure printed on the sidewall, and setting it out in the sun for a few hours. After mounting it on the mower, lower the pressure to the recommended psi.

    Gravely ZTR 60 hydro gear.

That unit should take about 73 ounces of 20W50 per side. So, a 5 quart jug will be plenty. There is no need to prefill the filters. DO NOT use standard automotive filters for the transaxles. Follow the air purge procedure described by Hydro-Gear...

Why would anyone want their Personal Pace mower? I've had one and their plastic transaxle is garbage.

    Changed my mind

I'm not a big fan of the Toro Personal Pace mowers. Sure, they cut okay. However, their cheesy drive system is their weakness. A Snapper Ninja Commercial will run rings around them.

    Switching to longer blades?

They do a FAIR job on dry grass and leaves. However, high lift or OEM blades do a much better job. Remember, mower companies designed their blades to work best with their decks.

    Switching to longer blades?

I had a set of G6 on my Gravely Pro Turn 260 this morning. I took them off shortly after I started mowing. Grass soup was falling out all over the place. The entire deck was packed. I cleaned the deck out good and put on OEM Gravely blades to finish my 3 acres. I should have known better. I side...

    Switching to longer blades?

@StarTech Rotary lists the #6026 as a fit. Maybe a local dealer would let @BigBlueEdge try a set for fit. If they fit without striking the deck or other blade tips, they would be a good performer. https://www.rotarycorp.com/search?q=038-7220-00

    Switching to longer blades?

One more thing, Gator blades make for a horrible cut. If your grass is just a little damp, they will pack the deck with clippings. This reduces the vacuum needed for a quality cut.

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

Each tank has an individual gauge. I often mow till one tank is out of fuel. It doesn't hurt anything. Besides, most of those fuel gauges don't last very long.

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

Most, if not all, commercial mowers have a 3 way fuel valve. The Bad Boy Maverick HD is one step below what is considered a true commercial mower. In fact, it has Hydro-Gear ZT-3400 transaxles. You will find the ZT-3400 on many entry level commercial mowers. Most mowers with two tanks have 3 way...

Ding! Ding! Ding! You are correct. There is no way to get fuel from the other tank.
  39. M

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

After doing some more digging, drawing fuel from the right tank only is a common problem. Change out the fuel cutoff valve with a 3 way. The fuel lines will attach to the 3 way and allow you to draw from either tank and shut off fuel at the valve...

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

I agree. However, I believe that Bad Boy installed the wrong valve at the factory. The OP has a Maverick HD. It has two tanks. The standard Maverick only has one tank. A mistake could have been made on the assembly line.
  41. M

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

The hose you highlighted in blue is a vacuum or vapor hose. It appears to be one fuel line in and one fuel line out. The one on the outlet side probably goes to the fuel filter.
  42. M

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

How can the valve be correct? It's obviously just a shut off valve. The valve should have a left, right, and off setting. This is your valve. https://powermowersales.com/badboymowers-067-6059-00 https://www.partstree.com/models/maverick-hd-bad-boy-zero-turn-mower-2024/frame-sub-assemblies-cont-2-13/

    Switching to longer blades?

You would be surprised. There is no one deck setting to fit all. I have a Gravely Pro Turn 260. Gravely says to set the rear 1/4" to 1/2" higher in the rear. It doesn't do well anywhere between those heights. I wound up with the rear 1/8" higher than the front and it cuts beautifully.
  44. M

    Switching to longer blades?

Use OEM blades or equivalent aftermarket blades. With that 72" deck, run it level all around. No forward pitch.

The only ways that pulley could be tilted is a bent bolt, wallowed out bolt mounting hole or bent mounting bracket. THE END!
  47. M

Still trying to get the mower deck right

Time to punt! You need to get the deck out from under the tractor and evaluate the problem. There may be a problem with the deck. Are any of the pulley, bracket mounting hole wallowed out? If those things check out, the part numbers need to be verified as correct to that mower. Those parts must...
