I bought a Snapper RER a few weeks ago that I got refurbished and running good. Included with the RER was a 21" self propelled. It wasn't running but would turn over. I added some needed oil, checked for spark, and confirmed that it would fire with a little starting fluid. I was able to pull the...
Thanks for another reply!
Yes, I turned a full turn both ways and couldn't hear any change. Another half turn CW would have been seated so I figured that the 1 and 1/2 CCW from seated was not lean. If the plug shows rich soon then I'll adjust.
I have one engine that I just finnished a valve job on that's on a simple test stand with nothing on the shaft. I recieved the parts for rebuilding the Walbro carb on it and got all back together. It will start on first pull with the choke applied then opened for it to run smooth. Should it be...
So I go to a small engine parts website and put my engine Model and Type (286707-4029-01) in to order, new imulsion tube. I click on the Carburetor drawing and it brings up a page of exploded parts drawings that include a Nikki at the top and a Walbro at the bottom. The walbro has a 125 in the...
I bought the Snapper RER that was running rough. When I tried to start it some times gas would come out of the carb intake flange, O ring leaking! I did a rebuild on the Chinese Nikki copy' including the tiny, tiny O ring on the main jet that came from the Kohler rebuild kit for Nikki carbs...
I cleaned the rust off of the fly-wheel and the magnito. I put some Mystry Oil in the cylinder and in the oil sump and pulled the rope by hand several times to get the cylinder lubricated some. Then I checked compression without the carb that is waiting on parts. Pulling the rope I got 40psi...
It's to replace this origional 10HP:
On this Snapper RER:
that I just refurbished the drivetrain on; new 63 tooth gear, chains, bearings, boots.... and replaced the bushings on the steering.
While searching for a Walbro carb for my 10HP B&S I found a '94 vintage12.5HP B&S I/C Quiet off of FB Marketplace for $75. Of course the picture looked great; too good to be true.
I went to look at it and it would turn over and seemed to have good compression so I bought it. The carb was...
I don't know how it got opened up more but you can see that it is enlarged.
If it causes a leaner emulsification can it be corrected with the adjustment screw. Or does that fixed jet that screws in straight down next to the adjustment screw control that mixture? That port and the Air Intake...
For my case I found a B&S 799728 carb' made by Nikki, not aftermarket, on Ebay, new in the box. I think that I should get an overhaul kit while I can. I'm having a hard time finding the B&S overhaul kit. As some old timer pro's have said the B&S web site that I found is useless, doesn't even...
Thanks! I'll check that tomorrow.
I did a more precise check confirming the shaft is straight. I pulled the spark plug, laid it up on it's side, and removed the blade and adapter from the shaft. I then fastened a wooden 2x4 across the bottom of the deck. I ran a long wood screw through the 2x4...
I checked all that and found nothing loose or broken. I wonder if something on the connecting rod broke that is letting it knock but not come totally loose?
I have a motor from my old Toro Recycler 22" (10 Yr old deck cracked.) 7.00 190CC mounted on a Murry Ground Force 3 Deck with spoked high back wheels (got it for $25). It makes a strong push mower. I hit a rebar and it died instantly. The blade doesn't contact the deck anywhere. I checked for a...
