were you able to do the other side without removing the tranny ?

I'd like to do this conversion, but I can't really see what parts are needed. I know I need a pedal and linkage, perhaps like part 16 in the diagram? But looking at the existing linkage, I can't see what this would attach to? Would I need to replace the pivot as well? Other parts? I can't...
