right, so unless the OEM grommet (which it getting delivered today) is a couple mm larger then the generic ones I have, I don't see how it will give a proper seal.

this is throwing me. the stem is 10mm wide the grommet where the stem goes is 3mm thick, so if the stem is inserted into the grommet its 16mm wide, so on paper is should work. but the rubber is soft and it compresses too much.

I am reading AC volts on the battery when its running. 33v using my HF multimeter. is that ok, or should something be cutting those out before the battery?
