Block the blades and use a 1/2" x 12" breaker bar to loosen up. Do not overtighten and use antifoulent when reinstalling.

I agree: follow the manual. I would not trust an engine oil in this application. Viscosity may be OK but engine oil has a lot of additives which may not help in this application. Stick with transmission fluid of the recommended viscosity.

Stabilizers also contain anti-oxidants which prevents the fuel from oxidizing during prolonged storage and subsequent varnish formation and sediment. A little 2-cycle oil will do the same thing.

Problem solved! Turns out I reinstalled both drive gears backwards(little spatial recognition problem). Cost me $40 to find out but shame on me!
