    Serial#0822125951894..is idling at 3000rpm..is this about right? Doesn't seem to be any idle adjustment on this particular carb. If I need to adjust, is this a governor adjustment, or just a carb issue..thanksI

    Valve lapping..

    I bought a used briggs block and im wanting to remove clean and lap the valves. It is a L head design. Can anyone give me some tips about lapping in these valves.

    Briggs Engine

    Hi, can anyone tell me how a 6.5 hp engine can use the same block as a 7.25hp engine.. different head, different crank, different piston, same block. 7 25 is 190cc displacement, not sure about the other.

    Hard starting

    Hi, typically what is the compression of a 6.5 hp briggs engine? I checked mine and it was reading 30psi. It starts hard, but seems to run ok once started. I didnt think 30psi was even enough to start it. This engine,after priming 6 or 7 times, kinda chugs then dies a few times before it runs...

    Hi, if I hold a briggs carburetor upside down, and apply 5lbs of pressue to fuel inlet, should needle and seat hold that pressure with just the weight of the float
