    Lower crankcase sealant

Just a heads up on older Kawasaki water cooled engines. Have a 26 year old Kawasaki FV731V with fairly low hours however when the factory built this engine they used an RTV that was not friendly to antifreeze. It has just a fair rating in that use and should never be used in contact with...

    4.75" deck idler pulleys....warning

The image provided here is the flat idler pulley for the deck of a lot of Bad Boy and other mowers. The one in the left is what Bad Boy is sending to their dealers. It is Chinese $33 crap. 6 hours and the bearings are shot. Easily identified by the 6 rivet design. The one on the right is the...

Dismissing a REPLY in forum software when you decide not to respond......

I'll bet there's a way to do this but is sure isn't obvious. When you select REPLY and the quoted message comes up with your space below it to reply....how the hell do you cancel the REPLY action. There is zero cancellation selection anywhere so now you're stuck with a quote with no reply just...

FD731V and other Kawasaki twin cylinders

This is not a plea for help as it has been fixed, just a heads up on cause and effect. The ignition coils on these engines are different from the #1 and #2 side with different part numbers and have a pair of transistors inside the units that control primary winding charging and field collapse...

For all of you who have mowers that have this electronic module (XT1, XT2, and several others....and may apply to other modules that use a plastic start stop key...), you'll be pleased to note that the key tip has a small magnet that pulls in a reed switch so that the entire mower functions...

    Perfect tool for bearing caps

Beating the hell out of the cups on reinstallation? Get an 1.25 inch PVC plumbing union. The big screw on cap fits over the cup up to the ridge and the top of the cup is protected by the top of the union. A hammer and a small length of wood.

Perfect tool to install front wheel top caps...

Beating the hell out of the cups on reinstallation? Get an 1.25 inch PVC plumbing union. The big screw on cap fits over the cup up to the ridge and the top of the cup is protected by the top of the union. A hammer and a small length of wood is all that's needed.

Pump belt and "spec" belt numbers.....

Not question just a heads up/education. I've had many folks say that if a belt has the right OEM number it's the right belt. T'aint so. Bad Boy belt number 041-5048-00, used on Pups and Lightnings and several others, has been seen on many belts but most are nowhere near spec and most are too...

2007 Lightning fuel gauge and I suspect many others models as well

At least on mine, the indicator decal on the inside started to turn white and then back to black, then white, then black.....may be temperature related but recently has just gone white and stayed there. New fuel indicator units are on the order of $43 and just to see the fuel quantity wasn't...
