I ordered a new housing and I plan to clean the whole motor off to find the source of the oil. Thanks for the advice. Should I use brake cleaner and a brush or the like when the motor is cold?

So I just purchased a used 2001 48" Zero Turn with the Kawasaki motor. I ran it for the first time today and it starts, runs, idles, and cuts. My issue was when I shut it down I noticed oil smoke coming from the motor. The previous owner broke the motor / fan stroud so I can see down into seeing...
