Buying Advice Ultima ZT2 - anyone have one? Thoughts?

Very interesting thread. I recently went to a local dealer to look at the Cub ZT's and the sales rep quickly steered me over to the Simplicity ZT's that were in the next isle over. He seemed to have more faith in the Simplicity brand. I asked him about the Husqvarna models sitting in the 3rd...

Non-stick for under deck of mower?

Over the last few years, I have used a couple of the different spray's available from the box stores, but they didn't last very long. They did make cleaning the deck easier for a couple of cleanings until they wore off. This summer I purchase this EZ-Slid product and applied 3- coats with a...

    Rough Cut

Just a after thought....you can lower that rear deck roller and perhaps avoid the deck tilting so much while turning. I have the Courier XT model and love the cut.....of coarse it's not the same configuration as yours.

Best upper end residential zero turn

I just went thru this process and there is no clear winner. They ALL have their benefits and disappointments. Budget determines a lot. I would stay away from the entry level models. I have 1.3 acres with some hills. I looked hard at Ferris, ExMark, John Deere, Toro, Scag and Kubota. Most of...

Bad taste in my mouth about Ferris

$ 135 for a belt .....seriously? I'd look for a back up belt from V-Belt Supply or V Belts 4Less and see if they can find a substitute that will fit. Ouch!. I burned a belt on a John Deere a few years ago and it was $55 from JD but only $18.00 from V-Belt Supply

Bad taste in my mouth about Ferris

If you smelled something burning, you knew something must be wrong.....that's the time to get down there and inspect for wear. You probably should have taken the belt off the PTO and spun the blades and pulleys to see if there was a drag or resistance. And to inspect where the rub was...

    Newby Broardmoor Blade Questions

About a month ago I stopped at my local Simplicity dealer to see about a new mower and what he would recommend for my property. We narrowed it down to a Conquest or a Courier XT but he said not to get the mulch kits. According to the sales rep.....as well as a Simplicity cuts and stripes....it...

Would like your input on what mower to buy

Jumping in here because I just purchased a Simplicity Courier XT ( a beefier version of the Courier line for residential). When I made my final choice and had to drive almost 2-hours to a dealer that had the last one that close to me as my local guys are picked over and not restocking until...

    2021 Simplicity Courier XT

Just wanted to share my first mowing with my new 2021 Simplicity Courier XT in case there are any shoppers our on the fence. First I brought the unit home and spent some time getting familiar with the unit and verifying the grease and lube points. Then I spent a hour leveling the deck ( dealer...

such a thing as a mower lift?

There are a few options ( Brands) that will work. I have a MoJack Hydraulic lift that works nicely. Only complaint is it takes a lot of pumping to get to the higher lifting point. I have seen similar jacks that have a screw drive instead of a hydraulic jack. You can use a electric drill to...

Looking at a new Scag 48" Liberty Z

How is the lawn striping on the Liberty Z? Can you pull a 40" lawn aerator ( plugger)? If I purchased a Scag Liberty Z I would have to figure out something differently to toss fertilizer ( currently use a Agra-Fab pull spreader behind my tractor). I want to sell my tractor and just have...

Ariens 52 inch zero turn tipping - counter weight question

Could you begin your mowing with the bags empty and do the berm first? Could also add some additional weights to the front when you do the berm then remove them for the remaining lawn? I have seen some ZT's with an add-on front bar and suitcase weights that can easily be removed. You might...

HELP !!!!! This snapper ZT is driving to the looney bin.

Can you retry to engage the blades with the deck at a higher setting and again at a low setting to see if it makes any difference? Wondering if the lift support is attached to the deck improperly. Had a Simplicity Courier zero turn ( very similar model) you might search under that model and see...

John Deere X570 Cuts Grass Too Low

I had a similar ( short cutting) issue so I bought a 4" pipe ( 3/4" x 4" pipe nipple at Home Depot), then set my HOC to 4" on the tractor. Then I used the pipe nipple to measure at the blade tips and adjusted the leveling screws with the JD T-wrench. This way I get the blades level and set at...

    Well, they did it...

Suicide by design is not the intent of any manufacturer. Who would ever intend to build a product that is inferior or designed to fail, just so the consumer has to repurchase more quickly? How likely are you to purchase again, a expensive piece of equipment that had a shorter life than you...

    Well, they did it...

well stated my friend........I too like a bargain........but all too often a bargain becomes a disappointment. The way we built this country was to continue to make things better. Quality has been sacrificed to meet a lower cost from a public that has bought into a false economy. Build it here...

2021 John Deere X380 First Impressions and Review

I just took off the mulching baffles on my X590 with the MOD kit. I discovered ( second season) that cutting my 1.5 acre KG lawn in the spring, I get a lot of under deck clogging and am forced to scrape the deck after each mowing. By removing the baffles, I get less build up and a better looking...

    AccelDeep 48" (48A) Blade Options?

I have a 1-year old JD 48A deck with the MOD (Mulch on Demand kit) and JD mulch blades. Last spring and this spring both, the deck would clog with either the JD mulch blades or the Gator G-5 blades. I actually think the G-5's are worse because of the larger wings. They tend to beat the...

    Testing a E130 / Thinking I may want a X350 - Help!

If you go ahead with a X300 model, consider taking a look at replacing the mower blades with Gator G5 blades. I found out thru trial that the G5 blades give the deck more lift to pull up the grass blades for trimming by the G5 blades and result in a more even cut. Plus they are mulching blades...

Is the X350 the right mower for me

Maybe it would help for you to give additional information on your property. How big? More info on the hills? Do you need differential lock? Is traction the issue? Possibly a lightly used X500 series could be a answer.
