Hey I'm sure there's people out there that think if there's no drain plug the oil doesn't have to be changed.. Sure this topic kind up a few times with guys sitting on a bar stool..

The guy is trying to mow a lawn that's like a swamp and standing water. Ain't a mower out there to this regardless of torque and horsepower. Either let it turn into a marsh and enjoy the frogs or wait till it dries out..

My take on mowing wet grass..Dont. Takes so much power and it always looks like $hit . Everyone thinks they "have to" mow that wet stuff. You'd be better off waiting a day or two ,letting it dry off and even if it grows more and get better results.. Its easier to mow 6" dry grass than it is to...

You could look into one of these... Trac Seats Seat Suspension Kit Might be your cheapest and easiest to install. Have one myself on a tractor and rides good. It will add about 2 3/4" in height though.

Can't agree more. I was sarcastically speaking a out Grasshopper. Not sure of the exact model the op has but somethings got to be looked into. 38hrs and leaving it sit around is ridiculous.

Got to be a really really bad design on Grasshoppers part then. Other than a diesel engine on it there aren't too many options for a higher HP gasser. Even so would another 5-8 horses make a difference of it were gas ?

Hard to believe that one horsepower made a difference . I dont know whats going on but something is not right and it ain't the HP.

Even with leaves I go over them multiple times to get chopped up good. Regardless of type of blades you use..

Just try different heights and see what works best for your particular mower. I do the same as you with leaves only I use Gator G6 blades... Helps a great deal for my Woods (Grasshopper).

Seems high priced for a 21 year old mower but it is diesel right ? A machine like that new is probably in 12-15k price range.

You never even had gas drip out with the oil when you set it on it side...? You must be god..

And tipping on its side along with the oil comes the gas...making even more of a mess.. What an asinine way to change oil .

I've used this type for the last 40 years and servers me well... Opinions will vary but I feel its about as accurate it gets. And works on any running motor and any given rpm... Look around as I'm sure it can be bought cheaper.

Here's a picture to what's being talked about. Only makes sense that you'd have to go with thinner ( shim) washers in place from original. Or you'd have to take some material off of the axle boss to accommodate the thickness of the bearing..

Zero turns "can" leave black marks on driveways if the operator wants to (or doesn't care) or doesn't know how to operate it. I have a Trans Am that can leave black marks on a driveway too. Doesn't make it a bad thing...👍

Check out the Ego brand at Lowes, Ace or on line. Forget the exact price $190-220 ? 56volt. Bump feed head, straight shaft. Can run probably 45+ minutes of very heavy cutting. Relatively light weight. Parts are available. Beats gas trimmers all day long in my opinion.
