Turn the engine backward against compression and see if it will start. That way you will have one revelotion with no compression and it will probably start. Don't do much work on Honda engines. Distributor s##ks. Can get parts through other sources at times. Honda carbs are so cheap it doesn't pay to work on them just replace. Any way their parts look up s##ks as well.

I have found if I am going to leave the fuel line off the carb for any length of time. I will take a yellow wire nut that is smoothe and plug the fuel line. Works great and not pinching the fuel line.

Kohler Relkoh has a engine plant in China and have had for years. Looks like mostly the horizontal engines.

Nova 2 makes a chip to replace the points and condensor on small engines. They work on most all point type ignitions. Install it and if it doesn't fire switch the wires. Most of the time this will work. I have used them on the old cast Iron Kohler engines. You can get them at Amazon.

Have a Tanaka TBC340 trimmer I bought in 2004 have always used non-ethanol fuel in it and have never done a carb job on it. Go out prime it choke and it starts right up. Runs like a champ.

TDC on the compression stroke is the only place both valves are fully closed at the same time. Briggs says piston 1/4 inch past TDC.

Cylinder leak down test is probably the best test you can run to determin the problem.

Have you tried taking the fuel line off past the filter to see if fuel flows through the filter?

25 050 21-s Is the Kohler filter for the gravity flow system. It is the filter I use on the non-fuel pump systems. If you use the 24 050 13-s it is a 10 micron filter and the engine could run for short peroids of time and shut off.

First thing I would do is to make sure there are no missing or loose bolts or broken hydro mounting brackets. There is usually a stop bolt to limit the travel of the levers to control the tracking. Adjusting the rods will most likely throw the neutral out of whack.

Did you check the fuses? When you put the starter back on did you get the wires on the starter correctly. I assume this is a 27hp Generac engine.

Did any manufacture use a mechanical pump but Kohler? Have not seen many pulse pumps fail. We sell a lot of them to novices that don't know how to diagnose a problem.

One thing I will tell you about the Kawasaki engines. They are a good engine. You need to really do as they reccomend and adjust the valves every 350 hours as this is the weakest area of the engine. If they would fix this weak link in the engine they would have the best engine in the industry.

Do not buy the starter with a metal gear if yours is plastic, It will mess up the ring gear on the fly wheel.
