That's generally what I have done. I grew up with either Permatex No.1 or No. 2. For valve cover gaskets I usually just used a silicone sealant on the valve cover side...let it sit overnight so the gasket dries to the sealant. Thanks for the reply.

No, but I'm not sure that will get all the liquid, water in some cases, out of the tank. Laziness creaps in when I think about removing the tank:):)

For these tanks on most zero the suction really needs to be flexible enough to reach back to the lower areas of the tanks.

What are good methods/or pumps for emptying fuel tanks? I have used siphoning with som success but are there manual pumps for this tasks? The plastic siphoning assist bellows pumps only last a few times. Appreciate the advice in advance.

I think it is very likely people rebuild these engines prematurely. Unless the exhaust smoke gets so excessive it becomes a health and enviornmental issue run the engine until poor clyinder pressure affects its performance. Installing oil is a pretty cheap thing compared to boring liners and...
