Hello Fresh767, We need the model number off the label of both mowers to reference the exact designs. Is the engine on the proposed model a 6.5? The crank length would have to be the same. Most crankshafts are keyed the same on these mowers from what I have seen.

Pull the upper cover and air cleaner off/ out of the way then operate the throttle to verify the choke is working freely and releasing properly. The choke plate lever may be hanging up from excess dust or grass clippings. This design was a little moody about the choke hanging up.
