Toro makes one of the best self-propelled mowers on the market. Everything from mowers to measuring cups have cheapened in quality and raised in price, especially the last 20 or so years.

Hit the zerks with heat and a small nail and air compressor blow gun to unclog the fittings. Sometimes it works.

You don’t have enough load on the engine. Why anyone would take the good line head off and install one where you have to constantly stop and add more line is beyond me. You have to have the trimmer line all the way out for correct load, and let it rip. 2-strokes love full throttle.

Honda makes a great self-propelled mower. Honda got out of gas push and self-propelled mower business 2 plus years ago, so this mower is new old stock.

The brush cutters aren’t a gimmick. Your trimmer needs more that a carburetor adjustment. Adjusting a carburetor correctly takes experience and practice. Take it in to the shop if you can’t figure it out.

I would NOT recommend any mulch kit on any zero turn. Open up the chute and let it fly! Some mowers will throw grass 8-10 feet. Evenly distributed grass is healthy for the lawn, looks better, and easier on the mower. Raise your plastic exit chute if you are leaving it all the way down.

I have seen Amsoil at trade shows over the years. Even had a guy that came by my house about 25 years ago selling Amsoil. I realize it is a “premium “ product. I wonder what percentage of the 2-stroke oil market Amsoil has? I bet it isn’t much. I wouldn’t mix gold at 100:1.

Manual chute blockers in general are really helpful. Especially if you mow commercially and need to open and close it consistently. I run Gator blades year round and am very pleased with them. Some people don’t like them.

The adjustment rod normally has threads that end, therefore you can’t keep tightening the nut. By putting a spacer, shim, washer, bushing onto the rod, you are able to keep raising the deck slightly.

Enlarge the pilot jet as a last resort if no air leaks, etc.

If the deck is actually leveled correctly, and tire pressure is correct, and you still need to raise deck a bit, try this. Put some type of bushing on the adjustment rod after removing the bolt. Adjust as needed. The bushing should raise deck more.

A tired, worn engine. Keep the oil topped off every time you use it, and run it.

The Kawasaki FJ is an older engine. Keep an eye on the oil if it is using oil (light gray smoke). There isn’t much more you can do within reason. Run it.

Fuel filters don’t always fill up with fuel. Make sure fuel tank vent and or gas cap is venting properly.

I am not a big fan fan of John Deere. Overpriced, overrated, parts are higher for OEM, and often more difficult to work on. Kawasaki is a great engine, period. Make sure to adjust valves every 300 hours, and check cooling fins annually, or as needed, per recommendations from Kawasaki.

Common sense tells me that grease is good for rapidly spinning parts, and no grease is bad. I think people tend to overthink situations sometimes. I have the original spindles on my 2006 Scag Turf Tiger. Do you think that is because I NEVER greased them?

Most people are not going to remove a bearing in a spindle to pack it, before installing it. Nobody is going to remove the bearing once the spindle is installed to pack it at a later date. Pump the spindle full until it comes out is the only practical way. It can take 100-150 pumps sometimes.

Depending upon the deck hanger set up, sometimes you can put a bushing on the hanger rod to help give the deck more height. The limiting factor is you can only raise deck as much as pulleys and spindles will allow before contacting underside of mower.
