    Cub Cadet 2072

Sounds like the orbital steering assist hydraulic motor has failed a seal. You would have to search around or contact some mower salvage yards to find a used one most likely. Ebay might have some parts for this mower. These were only built from '87-'89. It's been around for a while.

Compression at 30 PSI is way too low to support combustion. These have a compression release and usually show around 60 PSI for a compression test when pulling the rope about 4 times. I suggest you check the valve adjustment. Next, remove the air cleaner and backing plate to make sure the...

Sounds like the exhaust is plugged with carbon. Air cannot get in if exhaust cannot get out. The screen needs to be cleaned with a fine wire...

Bad Boy Maverick HD right tank not flowing

Where is the line that leads to the carburetor come from? They may have it plumbed so one tank is the primary and the other is the reserve. If is not that then someone (creative shop tech) changed the line around to only work with only one tank. When I was at a local John Deere dealer as a...

    Switching to longer blades?

Are you cutting with the mower RPM set to high, or trying to save gas by cutting at low throttle? Mowing should be done at full throttle and use the hand controls for the speed and direction. If you are trying to mow too fast that can also cause problems.

    Switching to longer blades?

This problem sounds like the wrong blades are repeatedly being used. The three blade decks have the middle spindle placed forward of the 2 out spindles on purpose to prevent "mohawking". Putting incorrect blades that are too long, they will hit the deck housing. I have had this issue once...

Okay, this is going to be weird. Rear-engine goes too fast.

Hello VPF, Most shop newer small engine shop techs have never worked on the older rear engine riders, so that would be a waste of time and money. Is first gear position actually that fast or is it the sudden lurch forward that is surprising you? The clutch is pretty sudden on these, so the...
