Most belt shops say if you put it on and belt makes one revaluation it's considered worn or used and they won't take back or replace, doesn't matter if it breaks, you can call them and you might get lucky and get a new belt, but they won't do anything about the broken fan.

The only thing that concerns me it that grove on flywheel, I would buy a new key and make sure grove of flywheel and crankshaft line up perfectly, it doesn't take much to get it out of time.

If it died really fast I would take blower cover off the engine an look at the shear key, if it's broken or sheared enough that you see it's moved that will put it out of time and it won't start.

Hydro Gear makes a rebuild kit, I'll give it a 50% chance of working, when you get inside if the piston bores are scored it probably won't work. If it were me I would take pump apart first and give it a good look before buying rebuild kit.
