    Timemaster self propelling

There should be two tension springs on the transmission, are they there? also check the cam under the handle that the traction cable hooks to and make sure it is sound without cracks or any slippage, (especially if it's the plastic one). Does the mower drive the same with and without the blades...

    Changing Honda GCV Engine oil

I went to Blaine's and got some tubing. I used a small funnel to stick the hose thru, then put that up against the vac intake and put a container in the vac. First I tried water and it worked great. Then I used straight 30w kind of cold from the basement and it was a bit slower. I think it...

In my 6 seasons on my honda I rarely used the fuel valve to run the carb dry. Never had a carb problem. Sometimes very late in the season when I was picking up leaves in late november I would shut it off just in case I didn't get back too it because of snow. My new Super Recycler's manual says...

Honda HRX217VKA self propelled not working

If the wheels spin off the ground a couple of things come to mind. First the plastic bushings that the drive shaft is supported on have worn enough that there is too much friction to propel the mower. Also the drive shaft itself rusts easily and the rust burrs can dig into the plastic bushings...

Tufftorq vs. Hydro-gear (again) - My convo with Tufftorq - comments?

At 3/4 acre and mostly flat add a bit more non turf landscaping to your existing turf area and use a good self propelled Toro Timemaster and come in waaay under budget. I'm surprised also that no one has suggested going higher end gently used if you must have a rider. That's a good way to come...

Briggs and Stratton Auto Choke Problem/Mystery.

    Honda HRX 217 Transmission Troubles

Could be the belt. Sometimes the plastic bushings that support the drive shaft are so worn the transmission cannot compansate and the speed drops that way.

    Hydrostatic transmission problem?

Is it worth fixing? Who knows. How much do you like it? Does it meet your needs? What did you pay for it? How much would a mower either new or used cost to replace this one cost? John Deere E-180

The fitting is not black like the other fittings elsewhere. It is a silvery yellow zinc that is easily missed on the yellow wheel. It's there I saw an E180 yesterday while at Home Depot and did a double take and then found it.

    John Deere E-180

Mystery solved. The fitting is on the wheel itself. If you are not seeing it just roll the tractor a bit and you will see it. That's also the reason it didn't show on the parts diagram for the axle assembly, because it's on the wheel.

Can't Pull Mower Backwards - HRR216VLA to bearing conversion

The plastic bushing is only part of the problem. The drive shaft in this market is not heavily zinc plated as it is in other sales markets as we have learned from another forum member down under. So the drive shaft is very prone to rusting which causes burrs that dig into the plastic bushing...

    John Deere E-180

I looked at the manual and I don't see a grease fitting where the arrow is pointing to the letter "B". All I see is the axle and a washer or cover where the axle attaches to the wheel. When I pull up the parts diagram for that area there is no lubrication fitting, (as Deere calls it) either.

Have you leveled the deck as per your operating manual? If you have then I would urge you to go to a more precise method and check the deck level at the blade tips. An optional mower deck leveling gauge (AM130907) is available from your John Deere dealer. It allows for precision mower deck...

Frustrated With Honda HRX 217 Versamower
