    Zero Turn Mower Buying

The rattle is likely metal rubbing metal or a belt that may not be tracking properly due to assembly issues. It will probably not be a serious issue but it could be the beginning of something that will become a bigger problem later. If the dealer is aware of the problem, he should be able to...

    Zero Turn Mower Buying

The big box store ZT's are not as horrible as some posts claim, if you use them as intended. For 1-acre mowing you are going to be using it for 1-1.5 hrs each mow. I you do what maintenance is recommended they will perform for you for quite awhile. I would avoid the new battery powered units...

    Best ztr under 8000

Part of the mystery in choosing a new ZTR is because there are not a lot of differences you can spot at first glance. They all have a motor, a deck, and a drive system. Sitting on one is not all that much different from another, if you are comparing entry level models to entry level models and...

Max amperage output on Briggs 25hp question.

Thank you both for your replies. My Briggs motor is NEW ( purchased new mower last August so I doubt it's been modified) From the reply's it's clear I'm wishful thinking that I can run a 17 amp pump and not risk damage to the Briggs electrical system. I'm over my head here so maybe a safer...

Max amperage output on Briggs 25hp question.

I double checked the Briggs part number ( my paperwork was wrong). the motor tag is 44T9770005G1. I took a look at the DC regulator and spotted 2-yellow and 1-Red wire. Guessing it's a 16 amp system ( base on your attachment) . What would happen if I hooked it to a 17 amp pump...

Max amperage output on Briggs 25hp question.

I need to replace the pump on my Fimco 25 gallon tow sprayer. I currently have a 3 GPM pump that pulls about 10 amps. I am wondering if I can use a 5 gpm pump but the amps use is 17 amps. I have a 2021 simplicity ZT with a Briggs 25HP commercial/turf motor 44n777-0005-G1. Will the...

Simplicity Regent or John Deere S240?

2-good choices to pick from and there are others out there as well. I have owned several Simplicities and John Deers. I think Simplicity offers a better deck overall. Depending on the model mower, I think a Simplicity deck is easier to level, easier to remove and reinstall. They also provide...

    Tracks between blades

If those stripes of taller grass are left from you coming back in the opposite direction from the previous pass, it would seem to be a tilted deck and a level issue. If they are all from going in the same direction it could still be a level issue. Are you measuring the deck or the blade tips...

    Tracks between blades

I would also suggest you verify the deck pitch and level is correct. If you have the correct blades, and the correct tire pressure, then the only thing left is air flow. Air flow is controlled by the deck being level and the front to back pitch is correct.

    Reverse button

put it back to normal. You will never forgive yourself if your wife, kid or grand child gets hurt when you are not around or busy doing something else. And if someone gets hurt the liability factor can be overwhelming. Now that you posted your question there is public record of you wanting to...

    Uneven deck Ariens Zoom34

can you drop the deck down on to (4) 2 x 4's ( one in each corner ) to check to see if the deck is twisted or bent? If it's twisted one corner will not make contact with the 2x4.

    Uneven deck Ariens Zoom34

Those units came with a mid-range setting. Your are suppose to have threads in the adjustment left over for minor correction.. You are at the extreme end with no threads left tells me you need to take the deck off and start over. You have something wrong in the mounting. You never should run...

    Let's Talk BLADES!

Several good choices out there for replacement mower blades. If you are wanting a Gator G3 blade, I assume mulching your grass is a goal. My experience with Gator blades was great, in they cut very well, stayed sharp and had additional lift. The down side is they really pulverize the clippings...

Help deciding - Kubota, Bad Boy, or Exmark

If you are set on the Kubota Z231, you might want to reconsider the 48" deck as it will give you a wider trim capability thus less rutting in tight spaces.

    Lift Actuator

I do not have my 2019 Conquest any longer but I remember a time when I took the deck completely off ( it's a beast ) and then reinstalled but in doing so I noticed I could accidentally get something in the linkage flipped. Which ride on should I buy??

I would recommend you go to 4 or 5 different models and take a look. There are differences that become more obvious the more you compare models. What piece of equipment to rake/clean this lawn?

you might be benefited with the addition of a de-thatcher to pull the dead material loose so it can be swept. Or you could consider a plug aerator and just pull plugs and let them decay and go back into the soil as they do.

    Ferris 2200 User Reviews

I can tell you my Simplicity Courier XT which is a Ferris 500S with orange paint is a fine machine and works well for me on my 1-acre property. It cuts great and is easy to maintain. I'm sure a 2200 is a better built machine with more features and built for to take more abuse. Good luck.

    Kubota T2290

Reverse awareness is certainly a valid talking point. I can see the need of a ROI switch due to the added safety but make the switch more convenient to use. I question why no one has installed a chirp sound when mowing in reverse. A chirp would give any nearby people, kids, or pets a warning as...

New Ryobi 80 volt lithium-ion battery ZTR Riding Mowers

Those new Ryobi Electric battery powered units look interesting. Very simple design indeed. I question the build quality......will they last very long with normal use? The construction seems a little light and it may be fine for flat manicured lawns but 1/2 acre and up, I'm not so sure...

    Is 2HP a big difference?

I doubt while running at full throttle while mowing you would ever know the difference unless you were mowing very overgrown grass or field. More hp would allow for a larger deck if needed. But over a 10-year ownership the $800 is only $6.66/month if you look at it that way.

Can you buy too big of a zero turn?

If traction is not a issue for that sloped backyard then a ZT will be fine. If you have a lot of trimming then a 48" is better than a 42" as you navigate the turns the deck will clip the grass beyond the wheel base. If your yard is wet most of the time a ZT can leave scars from the rear wheels...

Zero Turn, down to two. Would appreciate the help (Cub vs JD)

This is just my opinion but I would be hesitant to purchase a Cub ZT2 machine. Looking at them at my local HD and at a Farm Ag store nearby, I see some good and some Bad. The Bad is what is going to hurt you down the road. By Bad, I am referring to the cheap construction and short cuts and...

    Need recommendations: hills/acreage

Take a look at the John Deere X590 or the Simplicity Conquest to start. They would be stable on the hills and both offer traction control for those moments when having both rear wheels drive is necessary. A zero turn may not be a good candidate due to the hills.

Deck setting question for jd S180

I have read more then one owners manual, to have the front blade tips lower than the back to prevent double cutting. Deck setting question for jd S180

Leveling the deck side to side and front to back moves the entire deck and all 3-blades. A front to back adjustment should change the height of all 3-blades. I can't imagine a blade would stick out below the deck by design. It sounds more like the middle spindle is installed incorrectly. Since...

2022 Bad Boy Mowers have arrived!

is the deck level side to-side? Is it pitched front-to-back? Look at your manual for proper level and pitch instructions.....it may help. Also double check the air in the tires and set to factory specs. You may just need some tweaking. Or perhaps a different blade with a higher lift.
