do the simple stuff first. change the plugs. also: how did you check for no-spark? It's possible that it's running rich which is why it starts and runs good cold. if so buy a cheap carb on ebay.

I took apart an impulse fuel pump and it's a simple creature with just diaphragm and one way valve. there's no reason to have to throw it away when it can be easily rebuilt, right? but there are no rebuild parts for these things....

don't get a fuel injected lawn mower. I HATE fuel injection. When the thing breaks you will have to F'k around to figure out the problem. Carbs have been working great for decades. no need to make a lawn more more complex than it has to be.

see if it fires with starting fluid. if so then check to see if your carb float bowl is full of gas. If NOT, check your fuel lines to see if it's getting gas. If it is NOT, check your fuel pump. If the fuel pump is good then make sure your vacuum lines going into the fuel pump are not...

take off the air cleaner cover and squirt a little gas in the throttle body and see if it fires. If so you aren't getting enough gas. Sometimes getting it to thump a few times with starting fluid brings it back to life but it's indicative of a lean carb issue. If so buy another carb on ebay...
