Pull cord can be fixed very easy.Just unscrew 4 nuts and you have it.First i would clean & lube spring. Now to eliminate that slack on your rope just rape about 2 times and see if that work for you.
But if you want to spend $20 i did see some on E-bay.
To remove piston with connecting rod i have to hammer out the shaft---witch was not easy.Found bad piston, the ring was stock, lot of carbon.Manage to remove and clean ring.Put everything together and work. Most likely oil was never changed and that did it.Dan
Do not take engine apart, crankcase not come apart where the seal is.Oil seal should be flush with bottom of the crankcase. When i send that pic, how to remove blade adapter I did not attempt to unscrew that how is the best way to remove that gizmo.
Finley got ring loose, cleaned lot of carbon and put everything together.Starts right up and runs good.I did ask friend what kind of oil he,s using ooo whatever i can find.
I do not have shop, doing this for a friend so you know how that goes. You absolutely right that cylinder is so-so.Did few of them in past and they run but Not perfect. Thanks StarTech for good info.Dan
I got this thing free---free is good, but missing some parts and nothing cumming on line. The engine is made by Loncin ,I need control rod for auto-choke and air filter box.I have the engine running Ok.
Working on 2-cycle blower that would Not start.Have good spark, fuel it is in cylinder-spark plug wet but compression 70 psi.I decide to take it apart and here what i got.
Question i have how you remove that stock ring or if any one is selling piston & rig for homelite.
Do you have compression tester to check comp.If not put few drops of oil 30W in cylinder and now spray some carb.cleaner in to carburetor. That should pup.let us know.
I am working on a Ryobi weed trimmer and am wondering how you disassemble the engine, mainly how you would take the piston out. I'm having an issue with no compression, since it is a four cycle I can't see the piston through the exhaust port.
