solved! It must be a gasket/fuel delivery problem, I reinstalled all the gasket then it worked great. Also replaced spark plug, air filter, sharpened the blade, and put in new Honda Oem 10-30w engine oil, this machine runs great.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I’m trying to follow what you described using the old carb I took off. i think I might have a gasket problem causing fuel delivery failure. Before I get a new set of gaskets, will the tear in the gaskets cause problem or maybe it’s mainly a problem I didn’t line...

Oh, sorry I wasn't clear in my description, the engine stops running very quickly when the starter fluid is used up. It does not keep running. The engine won't start without starter fluid.

What I can do to diagnose fuel delivery problem. It's most likely caused by the ethanol gas over the years but I don't know what to look at. Thanks

Also if it could start with starter fluid, does that mean the choke even though may not be completely closed, is okayish? Thanks. I am really out of ideas to try. I'll search some choke pictures to see what's going on.

Thanks, yes it's a genuine honda part exactly like the original. I'll double check the choke. Am I right that if the engine can start with starter fluid, the spark plug can be removed from the equation?
