    material to stop oven squeak

I have a cheap whirlpool oven. The bottom heating element has an aluminum foot in 2 places that rests on the floor of the oven. When the oven is heating up the foot moves on the floor of the oven and squeaks. I know this is the source of the squeak because I put a quarter under the foot and...

storing a riding mower for 1 to 2 years.

I moved and will be storing a riding mower outside at a relative's house. I am going to drain the tank, run it out of gas and cover it the best I can. Is there any benefit to use the fogger stuff that outboard engines would use when you store them? What do I do with the battery? nothing and...

    Mats killed my lawn???

The grass came back nice and green in a couple of weeks. But, the grass is now mad at me and it lets clover and dandelion grow in it as a punishment for what I did.

Engine disconnected from the mower deck push mower.

I went with JB wield washers and a piece of sheet metal! This idea may be just crazy enough to work!

Engine disconnected from the mower deck push mower.

after looking at it some more, I feel like I can rotate the engine a 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn and drill new holes in the deck. The self propelled function works off of a pulley and a belt so it should line up no matter the engine orientation.

Engine disconnected from the mower deck push mower.

2 of the 3 bolts that attach the engine to the mower deck ripped out of the mower deck of my self propelled push mower. What is the fix for this? I don't have access to a welder.

    Time Capsule

So, for no real reason I want to bury some time capsules with my kids to be recovered 30 to 50 years in the future probably after I am gone. My plan is to use a PVC pipe with glued caps on the ends. I am planning on burying it 4 or 5 feet deep with a post hole digger. I am thinking about putting...

I need to Macgyver my dehumidifier

I sealed my crawl space to fix a moisture problem. The sump is covered with plastic and taped tight. My ac drains into it and my dehumidifier, both taped tight. No bugs, no smells and no mold!

I need to Macgyver my dehumidifier

I unhooked the hose and blew through it. There was initially some resistance then it cleared. Hopefully that fixes it, but we will see. I may have left the hose too long. The end of the hose is under the water level of my sump pump. The gravity feed hose connection is pretty high on the...

I need to Macgyver my dehumidifier

I have a regular house dehumidifier in my crawl space and it takes care of business perfectly. I have it draining into my sump pump via a plastic hose that comes out of the back of it. It's currently not draining through the hose. It has a small tank on it that looks like a drawer on the...

can someone help me find the right part?

I bought an OEM Husqvarna grommet and it has held up for a month. The generic ones I bought shrank, got hard and would leak. OEM part saved the day.

can someone help me find the right part?

yea, something that should be a $5 fix may cost me a new $90 tank with the grommet already included. If I could glue on a nipple over the hole and just attach the fuel line to the nipple that would be great, I have see gas tanks like that.

can someone help me find the right part?

my hole is 14mm, not 13. that 1 mm is throwing everything off, I think.
  21. 2ball

can someone help me find the right part?

right, so unless the OEM grommet (which it getting delivered today) is a couple mm larger then the generic ones I have, I don't see how it will give a proper seal.
  22. 2ball

can someone help me find the right part?

this is throwing me. the stem is 10mm wide the grommet where the stem goes is 3mm thick, so if the stem is inserted into the grommet its 16mm wide, so on paper is should work. but the rubber is soft and it compresses too much.
  23. 2ball

can someone help me find the right part?

ok, so here is what I got. I am not so sure the new OEM grommet is going to work. I measured these with a caliper so they are right. my hole is 14mm wide the stem is 10mm wide the grommet outside dim is 13.5 mm wide So when I put the stem in the grommet its only around 14mm or 14.5 where it...

can someone help me find the right part?

Everything seems correct. I ordered an OEM grommet, the one that ends 645. Maybe the generic one uses cheap rubber. The old one is much harder then the generic one. I am not supposed to use some kind of sealant am I?

    battery overcharging

alright, so I have added one of these and it kept the volts down in the 14.XX range. I was trying to figure out how to test amps so I was goofing around with the settings and set my Multimeter like this. I put it on the battery with the mower running and there was a spark, a pop and smoke...

Just want to confirm what I think I have read. My mower does not have a voltage regulator. It does have a diode, that keeps the voltage probably under 16 volts. these types of systems are hard on batteries and batteries will probably only last 2 to 4 years. I do see the place on the oil dip...

Too much compression. adjusted the valves and it got worse

Just reflecting on this. Three years ago I got the mower with a blown engine free. I replaced the engine with a used engine. A new engine was somewhere in the $500 range. 3 years have passed and if I replace the cam shaft, I will be in at least $350 on this used engine. I probably made the...

Good Stuff. I have had 3 unassisted starts since properly adjusting the valves and I am going to call it fixed.
